A three-member Delegation headed by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves is representing this country at the 43rd Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) in Suriname.
According to the National Broadcasting Corporation- NBC Radio, the delegation which also includes Minister of the Public Service, Consumer Affairs and Sports Honorable Frederick Stephenson and Mr. Ken Morris Budget Director in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning left the country on Saturday, July 2.
The CARICOM meeting in Paramaribo, Suriname runs from July 4th – 5th, 2022 and is being attended by several regional heads of government and their officials.
The meeting’s agenda has 22 items which include updates on Covid-19 and other emerging health issues, security issues, and the situation in Haiti.
Advancing the CARICOM Agro Food Systems Agenda, Prioritizing Regional Food and Nutrition Security, Climate Change, and development of a CARICOM Industrial Policy are also on the agenda, among several other important matters.
The Delegation is expected to return to the state on Wednesday July 6th.
