PM Gonsalves receives honorary doctorate from UK university

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines’ Prime Minister – Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has received an honorary doctorate from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in the United Kingdom – UK.

Dr. Gonsalves received an Honorary Doctorate (Doctor of Law) today (September 27).

In a publication, the university said it conferred the award on Dr. Gonsalves, “in recognition of his notable leadership and contribution as Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.”

Some 40 Vincentian students are currently reading for undergraduate degrees at the university.

Many other Vincentians are reading for graduate and postgraduate degrees.

Earlier this month, Dr. Gonsalves had announced that he was scheduled to visit Vincentian students at the university as part of his planned visits to students overseas in his new role as minister responsible for tertiary education.
