Fruit Vendor charged in connection with the death of Purlinea Greaves

Police statement

February 20, 2023, Kingstown – In connection with the February 10, 2023, death of Purlinea Greaves, a 28-year-old timekeeper of Dorsetshire Hill, Police have arrested and charged Abdul Garrick, a 30-year-old Fruit Vendor of Rockies with the offence of Murder.

Greaves died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital after she was approached and shot in the head at Dorsetshire Hill on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at about 8:30 pm. 

Garrick appeared at the Serious Offences Court on Monday, February 20, 2023, for arraignment where he did not have to plea to the indictable charge. Garrick was remanded into custody at His Majesty’s Prison pending a Preliminary Inquiry (PI).
