One News SVG can confirm that several students are among those injured after a minibus overturned in North Windward this evening.
Among those injured are students from the North Windward communities of Owia and Fancy.
The nature of the injuries is currently unknown, but several persons were rushed to the Modern Medical Complex in Georgetown.
The minibus – HR981 overturned in the Tourouma/Overland area. It was en route to Sandy Bay.
Some children from Fancy and Owia, for various reasons, may decide to take buses to Sandy Bay from time to time. When they get to the clinic, they then opt to either walk to Owia or Fancy or seek a ride home.
Other children, for various reasons, may utilize the available school bus system operated by the government.
One News SVG understands that the extra need for private transportation this evening may have come about due to a sports day held by a secondary school.
