Students of the Bethel High School (forms 1 and 2) converged at the Girl Guides Headquarters on Wednesday, May 10, for the “I am” Retreat Programme which was held to commemorate Girls Awareness Day.
The programme focused on knowing who you are as a person, finding your true identity, and women empowerment.
The programme also focused on self awareness, how to cope with stress/depression, and controlling emotions.
The Guidance Committee of the Bethel High School hosted the activity to help the young ladies to understand their uniqueness, their mental health and how they manage stress, and more so, their individuality.
The staff is encouraging other schools to create similar programmes to help other young women to stay on the right path.
“I learned not to let anyone make me feel bad about myself”, one student told One News SVG following the session.
The programme was organized by the counselor of Bethel High School, Miss Carmel Leach.
