The Playaz Youth Academy has announced the staging of its Basketball Summer Camp 2026, a two-week youth development programme combining basketball training with mentorship and life skills sessions.
In a statement, the Playaz Youth Academy said the camp will run from July 27 to August 7, 2026, Monday to Friday, at the Lowmans Leeward Hard Court, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. daily. The programme is open to boys and girls aged 5 and over, with a registration fee of $100. Transportation and refreshments will be provided for registered participants.
The Academy stated that the initiative continues its focus on youth development through sport, while also incorporating structured educational and awareness sessions.
Over the years, the Summer Camp has included sessions addressing a range of youth-related issues, including sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) awareness in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, conflict resolution and anger management with the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, Life Behind Bars with His Majesty’s Prisons, bullying awareness with Dr. Jozelle Miller, and financial literacy sessions supported by institutions such as the Grenada Co-operative Bank (GECCU Ltd.), St. Vincent Co-operative Bank, Teachers’ Co-operative Credit Union (TCCU), and others.
For 2026, the Academy says it intends to build on this foundation with additional speakers and expanded development sessions, maintaining its focus on encouraging positive choices among young people.

Playaz Youth Academy President Orlando Fergusson said the camp remains an important part of the organisation’s mission.
“Through this camp, we are not only teaching basketball. We are creating a space where young people can learn discipline, build confidence, develop respect for others and be guided in a positive direction,” he said.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to register early, as spaces are limited.
