The following is a job advertisement provided by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank.

Suitably qualified citizens of member countries of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) are invited to apply to fill the post of Facilities Maintenance Technician, Electricals, Facilities Maintenance Unit.

The successful candidate will be based in St Kitts and will be hired initially on a two (2) year contractual engagement with the opportunity to renew or transfer to the permanent establishment based on performance.

Applicants must have technical certification, formal apprenticeship programme, diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. A first degree in Engineering is preferred.

Candidates should have a minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience troubleshooting critical plant machinery and building services, preferably within a commercial office environment.

Applicants should also possess strong engineering and technical troubleshooting skills, knowledge of energy management practices and building codes, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and a positive attitude with a strong work ethic.

The successful candidate will be directly responsible to the Director, Support Services Management Department (SSMD), and the Facilities Engineer, Facilities Management Unit, Support Services Management Department, for the proper performance of his or her duties.

These duties will include specialised plant maintenance (solar and elevator systems), core campus electrical and specialised life safety systems, maintenance of generators, safety and compliance, and any other related duties which may be assigned by the Executive and management of the department.

The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to be flexible, effective time management and multitasking skills, and the ability to function effectively as part of a team as well as work independently.
