Police have taken several persons of interest into custody following the discovery of the body of an 84-year-old woman in Peruvian Vale, as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding her death.
The Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), in a press release issued on Friday, July 3, 2026, identified the deceased as Lida Lewis, an 84-year-old farmer of Peruvian Vale.
According to the RSVGPF, officers received “a report requesting assistance in the Peruvian Vale area” at approximately 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026. They responded and conducted “several checks” in the area, including locations where Lewis was known to frequent.
Police said that “during those efforts, the motionless body of Ms. Lewis was discovered.”

Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene before her body was removed. A post-mortem examination will be conducted “to ascertain the exact cause of death,” police said.
The RSVGPF also confirmed that “several persons of interest are currently in police custody and are assisting with the investigation.” No additional information has been released regarding those in custody or the circumstances surrounding Lewis’ death.
The investigation remains ongoing.
