Several students from Diamond appeared before the Calliaqua Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday after being jointly charged in connection with a number of alleged armed robberies and related offences committed in Diamond and surrounding communities.
In a September 15 press release, the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) said, the charges arise from separate incidents reported between May and September this year. Because the matters are indictable, none of the accused was required to enter pleas at this stage. Each defendant was granted bail of EC$15,000 with one surety, and all matters were adjourned to September 22, 2026.
In one case, police said Junior Duncan, 17; Tyrique Richards, 17; Rahmundo Gordon, 18; and a 14-year-old student, all of Diamond/Belvedere, were jointly charged with two counts of robbery.
Investigators allege that on May 4, 2026, while armed with a gun, the group robbed a 21-year-old farmer of Belair of an iPhone 15 Plus valued at EC$1,600, and a 17-year-old student of Belair of a pair of leather sandals worth EC$300 and EC$780 in cash. Police further allege that the complainants were placed in fear of immediate force during the incident.
In a separate matter, Duncan was also charged with possession of an imitation firearm. Police allege that on September 5, he had the imitation firearm in a public place along the Diamond Public Road.
Police have also jointly charged Duncan, another 14-year-old student and Jadon Antoine, 17, with two counts of robbery and one count of assault arising from incidents on September 9 in Diamond and Brighton.
The prosecution alleges the trio, while armed with a gun, robbed a 17-year-old student of Carapan of three mobile phones with a combined value of EC$3,200. They are further accused of robbing another 17-year-old student of EC$60 and assaulting a third 17-year-old student of Carapan by allegedly striking him with a gun, causing actual bodily harm.
In another case before the court, Duncan and Desran Pompey, 17, both of Diamond, were jointly charged with robbery, damage to property and assault.
According to police, the pair allegedly robbed an 18-year-old student of Calder of a Sprayground backpack valued at EC$400, a case of ramen worth EC$40, and EC$500 in cash, with the total value of the stolen property put at EC$940.
The two are also accused of damaging the complainant’s gold-plated chain, valued at EC$70, and assaulting him by allegedly striking him on the head with a gun, causing actual bodily harm. Those offences are alleged to have occurred in Diamond on September 5.
The cases remain before the court. As the proceedings continue, the charges are allegations, and the accused are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
