The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College (SVGCC), says that its students are not required to return to school on Monday, May 25, 2020.
In a Facebook post on Saturday (May 23), the college says “please note that the Ministry of Education’s Press Release as it relates to all students with external examinations returning to school on Monday 25th May, 2020, does not refer to the SVGCC”.
“In the upcoming weeks, some students of the DASGS and the DTVE may be required to go in to their campus to complete CAPE SBAs and practical assessments. These will be coordinated by the respective divisions to avoid too many students on campus at any one time” – the college says.
Schools across St. Vincent and the Grenadines will open on Monday to facilitate finalizing students in grades six and form five who have external exams.
Some vocational students are also required to attend school.
Schools across the country closed just before the Easter break in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Schools have resorted to the online modality to instruct students during the closed period.
