All businesses and schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, July 2, 2021, as Tropical Storm Elsa approaches.
According to the National Emergency Management Organization – NEMO, only essential workers will report for work.
NEMO said that its National Emergency Council met today (July 1), at 2:30 p.m. to discuss the impending impact of Tropical Storm Elsa.
“Based on the report that the outer bands of the storm are likely to affect St.Vincent and the Grenadines early tomorrow morning, the decision was taken by the Hon. Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves to shut down the country on Friday 2nd July, 2021 out of an abundance of caution,” NEMO said.
A formal announcement is expected to be made by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves in an address to the Nation at around 6:00 p.m., on Thursday.
