A private educational organization that offers classes and tutoring has given back to the community.
Excel Academics which was founded in 2021 by Kaville Hazlewood, handed over two scholarship awards on August 19. One of the awards was handed to Red Zone student – Ms. Kelly-Ann Myers. The other scholarship award was handed to Mr. Philip Lowman, whose mother collected on his behalf.
Both students are in fifth form.
Mr. Hazlewood said the scholarship awards are in honour of Mr. John Renton, former principal of the Thomas Saunders Secondary School – TSSS.
Mr. Hazelwood is an alumnus of the TSSS.

The value of the scholarship is $800.00 worth of after-school classes in preparation for the 2023 CSEC examinations.
Excel Academics offers evening classes for CPEA, CSEC and CAPE services to students.

Mr. Hazlewood said he created the organization to help other youths to realize their true academic potential.
At the scholarship award event, several entrepreneurs were present including The Sweetest Retreat which provided catering services the the guests.
