Bailey House wins Barrouallie Secondary Sports in record-breaking style

At least three records were broken by Bailey House athletes as they ran their way to victory in the Central Leeward Secondary School Sports on Sunday, February 26.

The Central Leeward Secondary School is also known as the Barrouallie Secondary School.

Athletes for Bailey (Blue) House sponsored by the Purple Army broke records in the Boys’ 400 meter race, the Girls’ 800 meter race, the Girls’ 4X100 meter Junior relay, the Boys’ 4×100 meter Junior relay, the Boys 4X200 meter relay, the Intermediate Girls’ 4X400 meter relay, the Intermediate Boys 4X400 meter relay, and the Senior Mixed 4X400 meter relay.

Bailey House finished with 1097 points. In second position was Lewis House with 1040 points; third was Scott House with 997 points, and fourth was James House with 794 points.

The records broken by Bailey House (Purple Army):

Jaheim Harry ran the Intermediate Boys 800 meter finals and broke the school’s record of 2:09.70. The new record set by him is 2:09:33.

Akayla Hamblett ran the Senior Girls 800 meter finals race and broke the school’s record of 2:39.43. The new personal record set by her is 2:38.15.

Kenesha Welcome ran the Senior Girls 800 meter race and also broke the school’s record of 2:39.43. The school’s new record set by her is 2:34.57.

Other records were broken in the relay finals by Bailey House.

Athletes from other houses also broke several records.
