Kingstown, St. Vincent (ONE NEWS SVG) – The Health Services Subcommittee has recommended several measures to manage mass gatherings in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
According to a release from the National Emergency Management Organization – NEMO, the measures recommended, recognize the “existence of evolving local spread of COVID-19”, among other factors.
The new recommendations will be extended to January 31, 2020. They have come into effect after reports of more than two COVID-19 cases with no recent travel history.
The objectives of the measures include minimizing the potential for creating a COVID-19 super spreader event.
Outdoor and indoor gatherings are to be limited to 400 persons, temperature checks most be done, facial coverings must be provided, and names and ID numbers of all attendees recorded.
Mass gatherings include gatherings indoor and outdoor.
