The body of Luann Roberts, 40, was discovered in a vehicle in Buccament – a community on the western side of mainland St. Vincent on Sunday, May 1, 2022.
Roberts served as a counsellor at the Family Court.
Up to press time, an adult male, Ronald Roberts was in police custody assisting with the investigations into the matter.
Roberts’ death brings the number of homicides in St. Vincent and the Grenadines for 2022 to 11, but she left a message to Vincentians less than a month before her death.
On April 10, Luann Roberts was featured on “Unwedged,” a program by 2016 Miss SVG winner and social work final-year student at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill – Ms. Nikianna Williams.
On the program aired on One News St. Vincent and other online platforms, Roberts said “conflict between parents can hurt children.”
On the program, which was about removing the wedge of unhealthy co-parenting, Roberts addressed the impacts of poor co-parenting on children and urged viewers of the program to find healthy ways to co-parent their children.
“I remind parents, in all of the actions between the mother and the father, the humans are there looking on. When we as adults, when we have our stress and when we are burdened… and we have a lot of burdened children in society today, when we are burdened… let’s think about how our children are coping,” Roberts said.
According to reports, Roberts has left behind one child – a daughter in her early 20’s.
