Ten members of the Blue Marlins Swim Club delivered a strong performance at the Sonia O’Neal Memorial (ACII) 2026 swim meet, held in Barbados from May 21–24, securing over 40 medals, achieving personal best times, and setting national records.

The meet, formerly known as the Aquatic Centre Invitational, was held in a 50m long course pool and featured swimmers from across the region. Blue Marlins represented Saint Vincent and the Grenadines across multiple age categories, with athletes competing in highly competitive events over four days.

In the 8 and under category, Rui Gordon, Raya Adams and Jayce Thomas represented the club. Xyon Sealey-Nicholls and Saige Jobe competed in the girls’ 9–10 age group, while Zoey May, Skylar Byron, Taj Henry and Saj Caesar featured in the 11–12 division. Belle Adams was the club’s most senior swimmer, competing in the girls’ 13–14 category.

All swimmers recorded personal best times across their respective events, with the 50m pool providing a significant test of stamina and endurance.

A standout performance came from Jayce Thomas, who secured third place in the boys’ 8 and under high points standings. In his first 50m competition, Thomas broke three Saint Vincent and the Grenadines national long course records in the 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke, and 50m breaststroke events.

Belle Adams also earned a podium finish, placing third in the girls’ 13–14 high points standings, contributing to the club’s strong overall performance.

Collectively, the Blue Marlins accumulated over 40 medals across individual events, finishing the meet in 10th position overall.

The team was prepared by coaches Tamarah St. Hilaire and Alyssa Davis, who praised the swimmers’ performances and development throughout the competition. St. Hilaire said she was proud of the athletes’ effort, growth, and determination in the pool, and thanked parents for their continued support in providing opportunities for regional exposure. She also congratulated fellow Saint Vincent and the Grenadines swim teams for their performances at the meet.
